
September 19, 2017 —With the launch of the new report “Counting on the World” from SDSN’s Thematic Research Network on Data and Statistics (SDSN TReNDS), TREnDS, in partnership with Group on Earth Observations (GEO), are hosting the first learning session as a side event to the annual International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD). This learning session will highlight the potential and urgency of data partnerships for sustainable development. Three sessions will draw from diverse case studies on innovations in data collection and sharing, knowledge management, and localizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These sessions will also highlight lessons from the first years of SDSN TReNDS’ Solutions Initiatives.
Fredy Rodríguez, CEPEI’s Data Coordinator, will participate in the session “Data Reconciliation and Institutional Readiness”, where he will address knowledge management for data sharing in Colombia. The session will be co-chaired by Shaida Badiee, Director of Open Data Watch. Alex Fischer from Oxford University will also join them in the conversation on data gaps analysis for SDG 6 in Bangladesh.
