SDG VNR QUALITY TRACKER
The SDG VNR Quality Tracker is Cepei’s tool that analyzes the quality and provides key information on Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) to contribute to the acceleration of sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean.
How is it used?
- It allows for tracking national SDG progress reports from Latin American and Caribbean countries, comparing them, and making more effective decisions to build and present high-quality and action-oriented reports.
- Helps those responsible for building Voluntary National Reviews to identify key elements and examples of good reporting practices, making their work easier.
- It makes it easier to know the quality of the Voluntary National Reviews submitted by Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as their strengths and weaknesses.
Contents
- A dashboard with three sections: the first two analyze, through indexes, the quality of the VNRs and the quality of SDG governance in Latin American and Caribbean countries. The third offers the possibility of comparing results between countries and reports.
- Flagship Report “Our Possible Future”: an in-depth analysis of the quality of the VNRs presented by the countries of the region during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), the governance for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in each of them, and the state of the data ecosystems to accelerate the SDGs.
- Country fact sheets: these include Cepei’s main findings to improve the quality of the implementation and monitoring reports of the 2030 Agenda. Each one includes recommendations aimed at supporting decision-making to ensure a long-term sustainable future.

Flagship Report
Cepei presented the main results of its first Flagship Report, in which it analyzed the quality of 19 Voluntary National Reviews (VNR), the governance of Latin America and the Caribbean and the state of regional data ecosystems.
One of its main conclusions is that, although 75% of the targets agreed in the 2030 Agenda show insufficient progress, there are still opportunities to achieve the agreed goals. The basis for that to happen is the VNRs: these need to be improved to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SDG country fact sheet
The SDG country factsheets gather Cepei’s main findings to improve the quality of the implementation and monitoring processes of the 2030 Agenda. Each one includes recommendations aimed at supporting decision-making to accelerate sustainable development.
