Virtual event: launch of the Flagship Report 2024

May 6, 2024

Sustainable development is on a challenging path in Latin America and the Caribbean, despite being in a decisive phase that will be examined in September during the United Nations Summit of the Future. On 21 May, Cepei will launch its second Flagship Report, in which it carries out a comparative review of the Voluntary National Reviews (VNR) submitted in 2023 by four countries in the region, analyses the future of the Forum of Latin American and Caribbean Countries on Sustainable Development and proposes how to integrate new technologies such as artificial intelligence into these debates.

The virtual event will be attended by Roberto Valent, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Development Coordination Office, Laura Fernández Delgado, Minister of National Planning and Economic Policy of Costa Rica, Luis Yáñez, Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC, and Miosotis Rivas Peña, General Director of the National Statistics Office of the Dominican Republic, who will discuss how to advance in the creation of solutions to accelerate the fulfilment of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs from a regional perspective, and how Latin America and the Caribbean can contribute to the success of the Summit of the Future.
