Richer countries have more resources to recover from the COVID-19 crisis

Unequal conditions before the pandemic explain the unequal recovery. We are seeing fast post-recession economic growth in rich countries, while low-income countries are still struggling to recover.

Low-income countries in the Global South, such as Mexico and South Africa, continue to struggle to sustain and recover from the pandemic. It is important that drastic and differentiated actions be taken to move forward from a crisis that affects millions of people around the world.
