Cepei in 2024: new members to contribute to the acceleration of sustainable development in the region

March 18, 2024

In 2024, Cepei will celebrate more than two decades of working to improve international cooperation and sustainable development. The objectives for the future are clear, and the challenges and opportunities must be addressed in the best possible way.

Continuing to understand the role of the private sector in improving evidence for decision-making by mapping data actions with the potential to contribute to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is part of its vision towards 2030.

To achieve this, the current data team is joined by Ricardo Valencia Ramírez, former Deputy Director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) of Colombia, Diana Galindo, statistics specialist and Master in Data Science from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and María Camila Gómez, Economist graduated from the University of Santo Tomás.

Lidia Fromm, who has experience in bilateral and multilateral cooperation, will lead Cepei’s research on the evolving dynamics of dialogue at the United Nations, focusing on enhancing the role of the G77+China in global problem-solving. Cepei and the think tank IDOS will work together in this project to understand how the dynamics of South-North dialogue at the UN have changed and the opportunities that arise from this for better multilateral cooperation.
