The COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact in women’s labor markets in Latin America. Since the beginning of the pandemic, women have been losing their status in the labor market as they shift from formal labor to informal jobs. Women in the informal labor market become unemployed, and unemployed women become inactive as they increasingly engage in domestic work.
