In the framework of the Data for Now initiative, from May 19 to 29, Cepei offered a workshop to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) of Colombia, with the aim of supporting geographic analysis capacities to measure poverty.
Looking forward to provide a contribution to solve the challenges posed by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in relation to poverty reduction, this four-session workshop sought to teach how to use new tools to improve monitoring and follow-up processes to measure SDG 2 (No poverty) in Colombia.

The workshop, led by Diego Silva, Professor of the Urban Management and Development program at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota Colombia and a consultant to Cepei, was offered to an interdisciplinary team belonging to different DANE divisions. The group was made up of representatives of the Department of Methodology and Statistical Production (DIMPE), by members of the Directorate of Geostatistics (DIG), and advisory officials of other units of the National Statistical Office of Colombia.
