Tableau has been a key partner to communicate the UN Regional Reform

Since 2019, Cepei has worked alongside the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General in supporting the UN Regional Reform process proposed in 2017.

In its 7 analytical reports, Cepei provides practical recommendations for the reform to be implemented effectively and efficiently, and for the UN’s work at the regional level to continue being collaborative, open and effective.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Context of the event

On October 26th, Tableau held the virtual event ‘UN Analytics Roundtable: Building a data culture’ to promote the collaboration between UN agencies and organizations running successful data projects to share emerging best practices in the field of analytics.

CEPEI’S CONTRIBITION

Philipp Schönrock, Director of Cepei, participated in the webinar together with Tableau experts, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Food Programme (WFP). During the event, he shared Cepei’s work on the UN Regional Reform and evidence-based recommendations for its positive regional impact.

Cepei has provided a holistic view of the UN’s regional assets and has transformed relevant aspects into a source of information, such as how the Regional Commissions and the Agencies, Funds and Programs work.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE INTERVENTION

The UN Regional Reform documents have provided at the regional level three fundamental contributions, including data analysis for which Tableau has been a strategic partner in terms of data communication through visualizations:

1

Analytical:Through data analysis, research and consulting.

2

Operational: Execution and program support.

3

Facilitating: Bringing people and other organizations together to meet a common goal.

During this process, Tableau has been a great partner. Technology and data visualizations provide real-time information that help to understand the reform in a simple and seamless way
