Drawing from the experiences of two communities of practice—one in Medellín-Antioquia, Colombia, and the other in Nairobi, Kenya—the report showcases localized strategies for addressing specific data challenges, such as supporting migrant and refugee populations or improving air quality. These case studies illustrate how tailored data action plans can bridge gaps between data needs and supply while fostering inclusive solutions for sustainable development.
In addition, the report synthesizes lessons learned from ongoing initiatives, including using private sector data to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and developing knowledge products such as policy briefs and working papers. It offers practical recommendations for national governments, local entities, the private sector, and think tanks to maximize the potential of the data revolution at all levels.
