On September 24 and 25, 2019, the first Summit meeting of the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) will be held in New York under the auspices of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Its theme will be “Accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.
Given that 2019 is the year that marks the end of the first review cycle for the implementation of the SDGs (HLPF 2016-2019), as agreed in the 2030 Agenda, during the SDG Summit world leaders must carry out a comprehensive review of this first cycle progresses, and the definition of measures to accelerate the achievement of the Objectives.
