The United Nations World Data Forum (UNWDF) was held from April 24-27, 2023, in Hangzhou, China. It is considered the most important world meeting on data use and production to measure progress on the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The UNWDF 2022 brought together experts and data users, statisticians, governments, civil society, the private sector, philanthropy, and the media to drive innovation in data to build the path toward better data for sustainable development.

This year, Cepei highlighted the need to give a new drive to the data revolution to track the progress of the 2030 Agenda. Although the use and production of data are essential to meet the SDGs’ targets, there still needs to be a lag in their fulfillment.

Since the first Forum in 2017, Cepei has been part of the academic committee, providing a regional perspective on using and producing data to track the SDGs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
