Occidental College and the LA Mayor Office invited Cepei to be part of the inaugural workshops of the Local Action Initiative: Compacts for the SDGs

The inaugural workshop of the Global Agenda – Local Action and Compacts for the SDGs initiative, organized by Occidental College in association with Los Angeles Mayor Office, was held on February 5-6, 2018 and gathered city officials and Sustainable Development experts from around the world.

The initiative was launched as a global partnership among world cities such as Los Angeles, Mumbai, Beijing, Nairobi, Paris, Bogota and others to support them t in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals locally, as well as to share and learn from one another.

Los Angeles City Mayor Eric Garcetti delivered the keynote address to launch the Global Ambition-Local Action (GA-L.A.) Initiative, followed by a plenary panel on Cities, the Sustainable Development Goals, and Diplomacy with Deputy Mayor for International Affairs Nina Hachigian and other city officials from around the world. on behalf of the city of Bogota were the Director of Cepei, Philipp Schönrock, and the Vice President of International Relations of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, María Mónica Conde.
