The HLPF is held in New York on July 9 to 18. the Follow Cepei’s analysis of the National Voluntary Reviews to be presented by the LAC countries.
From July 9 to 18, the United Nations High Level Political Forum (HLPF) will take place in New York, as the main space for monitoring the progress in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals on a global scale.
This year the theme of the meeting will be “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies”. It will also review progress towards the SDGs and focus in particular on SDGs: 6. Clean water and sanitation; 7. Affordable and clean energy; 11. Sustainable cities and communities; 12. Responsible consumption and production 15. Life on land and in addition 17. Partnerships for the Goals.
Cepei will be part of he Forum and as in past years (2016 and 2017) it will analyze the presentations of the National Voluntary Reviews that will be presented by the Latin American and Caribbean countries.
In this opportunity we will see three countries of the region (Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay) present a second progress report: Colombia and Mexico did it in 2016 while Uruguay in 2017. Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Jamaica and Paraguay will report for the first time.
