Panama presents II Voluntary National Report on Sustainable Development Goals
Through a virtual conference where representatives from five countries of the Latin American region, the Minister of Social Development (MIDES), Markova Concepción Jaramillo, presented this Monday the II National Voluntary Report, Development Objectives Sustainable: "Panama: Free of Poverty and Inequality, The Sixth Frontier", on behalf of the Government of Panama.
Coronavirus in Panama: Earth Hour is celebrated virtually
As every year, on the last Saturday of March, the Earth Hour movement promotes the voluntary blackout of 8:30 p.m. at 9:30 p.m., where around 180 participate countries, in order to create awareness and inspire actions in citizens, organizations, companies and administrations to stop the loss of biodiversity, protect the environment and planet. This 2020 this movement will carry out its campaign digitally, due to the crisis facing the world with COVID-19.
Regulatory framework for the environment and human rights
The implementation of the SDGs requires the participation of all stakeholders. The State, as the main responsible agent for fulfilling the commitments of the 2030 Agenda, must promote this participation through normative, political, economic and social incentives that create multi-stakeholder enabling environments.
