Costa Rica: New Regulation Proposed to Boost Energy Sector

To boost the sector and streamline the process, the Ministry of Environment and Energy has proposed a new regulation, which it has sent to public consultation. For the Costa Rican Chamber of Distributed Generation, it is a firm and decisive step that seeks to ensure that the country has a Distributed Generation regulation with fewer weights and regulatory barriers than the existing one.

Regulatory framework for the environment and human rights

The implementation of the SDGs requires the participation of all stakeholders. The State, as the main responsible agent for fulfilling the commitments of the 2030 Agenda, must promote this participation through normative, political, economic and social incentives that create multi-stakeholder enabling environments.
